MUSIC
Music plays an important role in the lives of the members of
St. Paul
's Church. The Chancel Choir, currently 12 members of various ages, is a hard
working and dedicated group. Choir-sponsored events and concert/services are
very well supported by the membership of
St. Paul
's.
Our choir is very capable of performing difficult and challenging music and
often sings a cappella music for morning worship and special services. We are
also fortunate to have an Aeolian-Skinner organ, built by one of the premier
organ builders in the world, which has been maintained in excellent condition.
St. Paul's is fortunate to possess a considerable "Special Music
Fund" that allows us to hire additional musicians for festival days
(Christmas, Good Friday, Easter and Pentecost). The choir has been privileged to
perform with accomplished musicians associated with world-renowned organizations
such as the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Curtis Institute of Music.
We expect to create a handbell Choir, which will
enhance our anthems and worship.
